– The protest demanded arrest and exemplary punishment for those involved and effective measures to stop violence against women across the country, including the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
– Speakers claimed the incident was part of ongoing state repression against people of the Chittagong Hill Tracts and a conspiracy to wipe out national minorities.
– They criticized the continued military rule in the CHT despite the fall of the “fascist” government.
– The victim, a Chakma housewife, was allegedly raped by two Bengali settlers, including one identified as Md Yusuf, 22.
