Students from indigenous communities protested Thursday’s arson attacks in Khagrachhari’s Dighinala upazila across Bangladesh.

– Demonstrations were held at five public universities, including Dhaka University, Jahangirnagar University, Rajshahi University, Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, and Mawlana Bhashani Science & Technology University.

– Protesters demanded justice, an end to violence against indigenous people, and implementation of the CHT Accord.

– Slogans included “Withdraw army from the hills,” “Save the hills and our culture,” “Stop land grabbing,” and “Stop militarisation in CHT.”

– Protests disrupted vehicular movement, with sit-ins, rallies, human chains, and marches taking place.

– Speakers emphasized unity, integration, and protection of indigenous rights, stating “We are not separatists; we are integrationists.”
