Bangladesh Feminist Archives invites you to a historic online panel discussion featuring four members of স্বয়ং – Swayong, an organization that played a pivotal role during the 2024 student protests in Bangladesh. As the protests intensified and the government enforced an internet blackout, the outside world lost access to critical updates from within the country. Despite these challenges, the members of Swayong risked everything to collect stories, document injustices, and report the truth while defying a fascist regime. They faced constant threats of arrest and the possibility of their organization being banned, yet they continued to fight for their cause.
Moderated by one of the unsung heroes of the protest, this panel offers a unique opportunity to hear from the courageous individuals who stood on the front lines, ensuring the world was aware of the situation in Bangladesh. We will explore the hidden challenges they faced, the risks they took, and the strategies they employed to navigate state repression and deliver the truth.
