A 16-year-old girl from Nandail Upazila, Mymensingh, died after being raped and tortured by her 22-year-old boyfriend, Hossain.
- The girl was taken to an unknown place on June 1 without informing her family and held captive for over three months.
- She suffered severe injuries, including damage to one eye, and was eventually left on the side of the road in front of her house on September 6.
- The girl’s family rescued her and took her to various hospitals for treatment, including Mymensingh and Agargaon Eye Hospital in Dhaka.
- During treatment, the doctor removed the right eye to save the damaged left eye, and the family kept the cornea in their refrigerator for potential future use.
- The girl died at her home on Monday afternoon, and the police sent her body to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
- A case was filed in court regarding the kidnapping, and the Mymensingh Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) is handling the investigation.
- The girl’s father is seeking justice and wants the accused punished to prevent similar incidents in the future.
