Khurshida Aktar Khushi is recognized as Bangladesh’s first female gymnast. While she initially rose to prominence in gymnastics, she later excelled in Judo as well. From 1979 to 1988, she claimed the national Judo championship title three times. Furthermore, she achieved three national victories at the prestigious “Japan Cup” in Judo. In acknowledgment of her impact on sports, she received the National Sports Award for Judo in 2004.
In 1977, Khushi became a cover model for the inaugural issue of Krirajogot (Sports’ was the”Bangladesh’s World), a bi-weekly sports magazine.
