A 50-year-old man, Rezaul Karim, was arrested for raping two sisters, aged 8 and 16, in their home in Jatrabari, Dhaka.
- The incident occurred on Wednesday night when the girls’ mother was out selling pitha on the sidewalk and their father was away.
- The 16-year-old girl is disabled and cannot speak.
- The perpetrator, Rezaul Karim, was a tenant in the same house as the victims.
- He was arrested after neighbors heard the girls’ screams and intervened.
- The two girls were admitted to the One Stop Crisis Center (OCC) of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
