Welcome to the second episode of the Bangladesh Feminist Oral History Project, presented by the Bangladesh Feminist Archives.

This series is dedicated to preserving and amplifying the voices of feminists in Bangladesh, documenting their contributions, challenges, and reflections for future generations. In this episode, we are honored to feature Mitul Mahmud, a feminist advocate, strategist, and social justice leader. Mitul shares her journey in gender equality and community-driven change, reflecting on her work as an Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Strategist and as the Co-Founder of Swayong, a human rights organization amplifying real-life stories to challenge systemic injustices.

The conversation is led by Tanveer Anoy—an academic, author, archivist, and activist—whose work focuses on documenting and elevating marginalized voices and histories.

Topics Discussed:

-Mitul’s personal journey into feminist activism and advocacy

-The role of equity, diversity, and inclusion in advancing social justice

-Community-driven approaches to gender equality and combating gender-based violence

-The power of storytelling in feminist movements through Swayong

-Reflections on feminist progress and aspirations for the future

This series aspires to document the rich and intersectional histories of feminist movements in Bangladesh, serving as an archive for education, inspiration, and collective memory.
