Schoolgirl Raped & Murdered in Dhaka

Police recovered a decomposed body of an 8th-grade schoolgirl from Hatirjheel in Dhaka on February 2.

Two youths, Robin and Rabbi Mridha, were arrested in connection with the incident.
The arrested youths confessed to tying the girl’s hands and feet, raping her, and killing her.
The girl went missing on January 16 after telling her parents she was going shopping.
Her father filed a general diary with Dakshinkhan police station on January 19, leading to a case being filed on January 27.
Robin was arrested on January 30, and Rabbi Mridha was arrested later based on information from Robin.
The two confessed to the police that five men raped the girl, and her body was thrown into Hatirjheel after she died.
Robin and Rabbi Mridha gave their statements under Section 164 in court and were ordered to be sent to jail.
A drive is underway to arrest the other three accused involved in the murder.
