Two people were arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old speech-impaired girl and beating her mother and aunt in Bauphal, Patuakhali.

• The girl’s father filed a case naming three people, and the girl was sent to Patuakhali Medical College Hospital for medical check-up and treatment.
• The mother and aunt were admitted to Bauphal Upazila Health Complex for injuries.
• The accused youth allegedly took advantage of the girl being left alone at home, called her to an abandoned house, and raped her.
• The girl’s screams alerted others, and the youth fled.
• When the girl’s family protested and demanded justice, the youth’s father and brother beat them up and threatened to kill them.
• The accused youth is absconding, while his father and brother were arrested for beating the victim’s relatives.
