We are excited to present Episode 3 of the Bangladesh Feminist Oral History Project, an initiative by the Bangladesh Feminist Archives dedicated to documenting and amplifying the voices of feminists shaping Bangladesh’s history and future.
In this episode, we feature Nafisa Nipun Tanjeem, an Associate Professor at Worcester State University, USA, whose work focuses on transnational, postcolonial, decolonial feminisms, critical race theory, and social justice movements. Beyond academia, Nafisa is also an organizer for Meye Network and the Feminist Alliance of Bangladesh (FAB)—two grassroots feminist platforms advocating for solidarity and activism in Bangladesh and among the Bangladeshi diaspora.
Topics Discussed:
-Nafisa’s personal journey into feminist activism and research
-The role of transnational feminist movements in shaping global and local activism
-Feminist organizing through Meye Network and FAB
-Decolonial and critical race perspectives in feminist movements
-Reflections on the future of feminist activism in Bangladesh and beyond
This series highlights the contributions, struggles, and reflections of Bangladeshi feminists, documenting their unique experiences to create a living archive of intersectional feminist history.
