A bus bound for Rajshahi from Dhaka was allegedly hijacked by a group of 8-10 people, including new and former passengers, in Tangail district.
- The hijackers looted passengers’ belongings and sexually assaulted two female passengers before fleeing in the Mirzapur area.
- Natore police arrested the bus driver, Bablu Ali, supervisor Sumon Islam, and assistant Mahbub Alam on suspicion of involvement in the incident.
- Passengers alleged that the bus driver and his associates helped the robbers, and demanded action against them.
- Police advised the aggrieved passengers to file a written complaint at Mirzapur police station.
