A group of young men in Feni’s Sonagazi took objectionable photos of an expatriate’s wife, repeatedly raping her and threatening to publish the photos.
- The gang then embezzled Tk 5.8 million from the housewife by threatening to publish the photos.
- After the housewife filed a case on February 11, police arrested Harunur Rashid alias Harun Miyaji, a resident of Char Darbesh Union in Sonagazi Upazila.
- Harunur Rashid was arrested at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong while trying to flee abroad.
- A mobile phone and memory card were recovered from Rashid, containing objectionable photos and videos of the housewife.
- Rashid is an acquaintance of the housewife’s husband and had visited her home to fix her mobile phone.
