On February 23, 2025, BRAC University students took to the streets in protest against the ongoing surge of sexual violence and rape against women, demanding swift justice for the victims. They called for the highest punishment for rapists and urged immediate reforms to the Women and Children Oppression Act. Additionally, they pressed for the establishment of mental health counseling programs to support survivors dealing with post-trauma. The students also issued a press release outlining 13 key demands, warning that if their calls for justice were ignored, they would seek the immediate resignation of the Home Adviser.
