A case has been filed against five people, including a police sub-inspector (SI), for demanding Tk 3 million from a female lawyer, Mukta Parveen.
– The incident occurred in April 2024, when Mukta Parveen was arrested and granted a three-day remand.
– SI Mahfuzur Rahman allegedly tortured Mukta Parveen physically and mentally during the remand period.
– Four others, including Sheikh Abdullah, Zahid ul Alam, Roman Islam, and Md. Salam, were also accused of being present in the remand room without legal right.
– Mukta Parveen had previously filed a case in January alleging attempted rape, molestation, and extortion against the same accused.
