Mustafa Asif, a Dhaka University employee, was granted bail on a bond of Tk 1,000 after being arrested for allegedly harassing a student on campus.
– The incident occurred on March 5, when Asif allegedly harassed the student, making obscene comments about their dress.
– The student filed a case with Shahbagh Police Station, and Asif was presented in court by Sub-Inspector Toufiq Hasan, who requested that he be detained in jail.
– Asif’s lawyer, Azmat Hossain, applied for bail, claiming that Asif was innocent and had been intentionally implicated in the case.
– The court granted bail after a hearing, with Sub-Inspector Abul Kalam Azad confirming that the plaintiff had applied for withdrawal of the case and the accused had applied for bail.
