On February 24, 2025, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Firoz Mia, a 45-year-old CNG autorickshaw driver, in Mirzapur, Tangail.
– The incident occurred when the girl was picking plums from a tree, and Firoz lured her into a nearby toilet and raped her, recording a video on his phone.
– Firoz threatened to kill the girl if she told anyone about the rape, and she became silent after returning home.
– After many attempts, the girl told her mother about the incident, and it became known among the neighbors.
– A week after the incident, village elders organized an arbitration to cover up the incident, fining Firoz Tk 150,000, with Tk 92,000 paid to the girl’s mother.
– On Saturday, March 8, the police brought the girl and her mother to the Mirzapur police station for questioning, and preparations are underway for a case in the rape of the child.
– The police are conducting a drive to arrest the accused, Firoz Mia, who remains at large.
