The child’s mother has filed a case against her father-in-law, Hitu Sheikh, brother-in-law, Ratul Sheikh, mother-in-law, Zaheda Khatun, and sister’s husband, Sajeeb Sheikh, for the alleged rape of her 8-year-old daughter.
– The case statement alleges that Hitu Sheikh, the father-in-law, raped the child with the help of his son, Sajeeb Sheikh, the sister’s husband, on Wednesday, March 5, at around 2:30 am.
– The mother-in-law, Zaheda Khatun, and brother-in-law, Ratul Sheikh, knew about the incident and tried to cover it up by pouring water on the child’s head and locking the two sisters in separate rooms.
– The child’s elder sister reported that she saw the child sleeping on the floor and when she asked her what happened, the child told her that her father-in-law had raped her.
– The elder sister also stated that she had heard rumors that her in-laws had committed similar crimes against two other girls in the past.
– The child’s mother sent a complaint to Magura Sadar Police Station on Saturday morning, and a case was registered at around 3 pm.
– The accused were arrested and sent to court, and the police are investigating the case and have collected DNA samples.
– The child is still unconscious and undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and has been shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) for better treatment.
