A 14-year-old teenager was arrested by locals and handed over to the police on charges of raping a 4.5-year-old girl in Faridpur.
– The incident occurred on Friday (7 March 2025) at around 9 pm in a village in Kanaipur Union of Faridpur Sadar Upazila.
– The teenager allegedly took the girl for a bicycle ride and then raped her in a nearby mahogany garden.
– The victim’s father filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station on Saturday.
– The victim has been sent to the One-Stop Crisis Center of Faridpur Medical College Hospital for treatment.
– The accused teenager is an employee of the victim’s uncle’s hotel and was handed over to the children’s court.
– Locals caught the teenager after the girl screamed for help, beat him up, and handed him over to the police.
– A case has been filed under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act based on the written complaint of the child’s father.
