On Saturday, March 8, 2025, a 27-year-old man, Md. Arman Mia, allegedly raped an 8-year-old third-grade girl in Gazipur’s Sreepur Upazila and recorded the scene on his smartphone.
– Local people caught Arman Mia red-handed and handed him over to the police after a mob lynching.
– The victim was rescued and sent to the hospital by the police.
– Arman Mia confessed to the crime, stating that he committed it after consuming Yaba.
– He has been living in a hut built on forest department land in the Majertek area near the scene for several years and worked as a daily wage worker in various places.
– The victim’s father reported that his daughter went missing from home since noon, and they started searching for her in various places.
– Local passers-by heard the child’s screams in the forest and caught Arman Mia red-handed.
– During interrogation, Arman Mia admitted to recording several video clips and sending them to his three friends’ mobile phones.
– Inspector Md. Shamim Akhtar of Sripur Police Station confirmed that Arman Mia has been brought into police custody, and the child has been sent to the hospital.
– Legal action is underway against Arman Mia.
