A 7-months-pregnant housewife was allegedly gang-raped by 5 men, including 2 identified accused, Iqbal Hossain (43) and Pappu Mia (29), in Narsingdi.
– The incident occurred between February 19-21, after the victim’s husband was arrested and sent to Narsingdi Jail on February 15.
– Iqbal Hossain, one of the accused, promised to arrange bail for the victim’s husband and asked her to meet a lawyer, Pappu Mia, in Panchdona.
– The victim was taken to a room where she was locked up for 3 days, raped multiple times, and threatened with death if she told anyone.
– On February 21, Iqbal left the victim in front of her house, and she did not report the incident due to fear.
– On March 7, the victim told her husband about the incident after he was released on bail.
– On March 9, the victim’s husband and relatives filed a written complaint with Madhabadi Police Station.
– The police arrested Iqbal Hossain on March 9 and filed a case against him and 4 other unidentified accused on charges of gang rape.
– Efforts are underway to arrest the remaining accused.
