A 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather, who was arrested after the girl’s mother filed a case under the Prevention of Violence against Women and Children Act.
– The stepfather, 40, had been raping the girl for about a year, threatening to kill her if she told anyone.
– The girl’s mother worked at a garment factory, and the stepfather stayed home, where he committed the crime.
– The incident came to light when the stepfather confessed to the crime during a quarrel with his wife.
– The victim’s mother filed a case at Ashulia Police Station, and the stepfather was arrested.
– In another incident, a 10-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her stepfather, who escaped from the house after the crime.
– The stepfather, 40, was accused of raping the girl on Sunday night, and the girl’s mother filed a case at Ashulia Police Station.
– In a third incident, an 8-year-old child was allegedly raped by his uncle, who was arrested by RAB-4, CPC-2, and RAB-10.
– The uncle, 19, was accused of raping the child on Monday morning, and the child’s father filed a case at Ashulia Police Station.
– Inspector (Investigation) of Ashulia Police Station Md. Kamal Hossain said that three cases have been filed in rape cases in the last few days, and efforts are underway to bring the accused under the law.
– Rezwana Karim, associate professor of the Department of Anthropology at Jahangirnagar University, said that a person who rapes does not become a rapist overnight, and that the mindset is formed through religious misinterpretation and ugly comments towards women.
