We are excited to share Episode 6 of the Bangladesh Feminist Oral History Project, an initiative by the Bangladesh Feminist Archives that documents and amplifies the voices of Bangladeshi feminists shaping the present and future.
In this episode, we feature Madhuri Kibria, a feminist researcher and global advocate for gender justice, climate activism, and social equity. Madhuri has worked with UN Women, The Nature Conservancy, and several NGOs across Bangladesh, Canada, Australia, and the United States. She currently serves as the Project Manager of the Global Impact Fellowship at BacharLorai, a Canadian youth-led social impact agency.
Her academic and advocacy work spans gender-based violence prevention, sexual and reproductive health rights, and inclusive development, with a focus on historically marginalized groups.
Topics Discussed:
-Madhuri’s personal and professional journey into feminist advocacy
-The intersections of gender justice, climate change, and human rights
-Insights from research on gender-based violence and women’s autonomy
-The power of youth leadership and transnational feminist organizing
-Creating community-centered responses to global injustices
This series is a growing living archive of intersectional feminist history, documenting the contributions and reflections of Bangladeshi feminists from all walks of life.
