Two separate incidents involving sexual violence against women with disabilities occurred in Satkania, Chittagong.
-Md. Delwar Hossain (22) allegedly raped a 55-year-old woman with an intellectual disability on February 13 and attempted to assault her again early Friday morning. Locals intervened both times, and he was caught and handed over to police during the second incident. A local watchman filed the case.
-Md. Aziz (55) was accused of attempting to rape a 35-year-old speech-impaired woman on Tuesday night. A local mediation was attempted but failed after the incident gained attention on Facebook. The victim’s brother later filed a case, and Aziz was arrested with local help.
-Both accused confessed during initial police interrogation and are scheduled to be presented in court on Saturday.
