Two staff members of Apon Coffee House, manager Al Amin and employee Shuvo Sutradhar, were given a one-day remand by a Dhaka court for physically assaulting a woman on April 11.
– The incident occurred at around 5:20 pm in front of the cafe in Taltala area of Khilgaon, where the staff members behaved indecently and beat the woman with a stick.
– A video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting Rampura Police Station to file a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act and Section 323 of the Penal Code.
– The police applied for a five-day remand, but the court granted a one-day remand after hearing from both sides.
– The accused were arrested by Rampura Police Station and presented before Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md. Rakibul Hasan, who passed the order .
