Father killed for protesting daughter’s harassment, daughter takes SSC exam amidst grief in Rajshahi

A 45-year-old bus driver, Akram Ali, was killed in Rajshahi’s Talaimari Shaheed Minar area for protesting against the harassment of his daughter.

– Akram’s daughter, Rakiya Alfi, is a student of Agrani School and College and was scheduled to take her SSC English second paper exam on the day after her father’s murder.

– Despite her father’s death, Rakiya took the exam at Rajshahi Shiroil High School.

– A murder case was filed against 7 named individuals and 4-5 unidentified people, accusing them of attacking and killing Akram Ali.

– According to the case report, the main accused, Nantu, had been harassing Rakiya and threatened Akram Ali after he protested against Nantu’s beating of his wife, a relative of Akram’s wife.

– Akram Ali’s son, Hasan Imam, filed the case with Boalia Model Police Station, and the police assured that the accused would be arrested soon.
