A woman’s house was set on fire by locals in Gomostapur upazila, Chapainawabganj, over allegations of “anti-social activities”, including prostitution and drug business.
– The incident occurred on Wednesday night, and four other houses were also damaged in the fire.
– Locals claim they had repeatedly warned the woman to stop her alleged activities, but she continued, leading to the arson attack.
– The woman denies the allegations, claiming the attack was motivated by a previous rape case she filed against two people, including Mohsin Ali’s nephew.
– Mohsin Ali disputes the woman’s claim, stating the rape case is false and the allegations are part of a campaign to harass the woman over her alleged anti-social activities.
– Authorities, including the UNO and SP, have stated that those who took the law into their own hands have done wrong, and action will be taken if a written complaint is received.
