A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by a neighbor and his friends in Barguna’s Taltoli Upazila.
– The incident occurred on April 22 night when the girl was lured away from her home by a neighbor woman and taken to a fish pond.
– The girl’s family alleged that the police are not taking action despite filing a complaint, and no case has been filed yet.
– The police officer-in-charge claimed that the allegation is not true and that they didn’t receive a written complaint.
– The victim’s family and local UP member Shakil Khan said they went to the police station with the girl’s statement, but the police didn’t file a case due to lack of information about the accused’s identity.
– The police officer-in-charge asked the family to preserve evidence and later claimed that he asked them to come with pictures to file a general diary (GD).
– The victim’s family is frustrated with the lack of action, and the case remains pending.
