Six women, including three NCP leaders, have welcomed Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh’s apology for abusing members of the Women’s Affairs Reform Commission.
– However, they criticized the organization’s statement for framing women’s rights as a “Western agenda” and implying that some feminists are “radical.”
– The women argue that women’s equal rights are not a Western agenda and that everyone in society should be respected for their own strengths.
– They accept the apology and invite Hefazat-e-Islam to participate in discussions and debates on women’s issues.
– The women believe that only women can truly understand women’s equality and social status issues, and encourage Hefazat-e-Islam to engage with women on these topics.
– They cite the 2024 mass uprising as an example of women’s power and strength, and hope for a future social agreement through dialogue.
