Sahela Akhter, a 38-year-old housewife and mother of three, died at Chittagong Medical College Hospital due to alleged torture by her husband, Didarul Alam.
– A case was filed against Didarul Alam by Sahela’s brother, Shah Md. Mozammel, after which the police confirmed the start of an investigation.
– According to the complaint, Didarul Alam had been physically and mentally torturing Sahela since a few days after their marriage 21 years ago.
– The alleged torture worsened recently, with Didarul hitting Sahela on the neck twice, resulting in her hospitalization.
– Sahela’s brother claims Didarul wanted to marry another woman and tortured Sahela to drive her out.
– Didarul Alam is currently absconding, and the police are working to arrest him.
