We are excited to present Episode 9 of the Bangladesh Feminist Oral History Project, an initiative by the Bangladesh Feminist Archives committed to documenting and amplifying the voices of Bangladeshi feminists across generations.
In this episode, we speak with Sudeshna Biswas, a feminist activist, organizer, and advocate for gender and minority rights. Sudeshna was one of the key organizers of the Rage Against Rape movement in 2020, a mass mobilization against sexual violence and state impunity in Bangladesh.
Trained as a microbiologist, Sudeshna works at the grassroots level to ensure equitable access to safe water and sanitation, while remaining deeply engaged in feminist and secular activism. She is also an ADB-Japan Funds scholar, with graduate training in development management from the Philippines.
Her activism spans issues of gender, religion, and anti-majoritarian resistance, and she brings a fierce intersectional lens to all her work.
