On the night of June 15, the body of 27-year-old Sumi Akter was recovered from a locked apartment in North Badda, Dhaka. Police suspect she was strangled and have sent the body to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. Her husband, who is currently missing, is the primary suspect, according to her family. The apartment door was locked from the outside, and neighbors reported frequent quarrels between the couple. Sumi had been living in the rented flat for the past 3–4 months, while her husband visited occasionally. Originally from Dhumki upazila in Patuakhali, Sumi’s death is now under investigation, with police awaiting forensic confirmation on whether any intoxicants were involved.
