Amirul Nesa, a 110-year-old woman from Jhalakathi, has filed a case against her son, Yunus Molla (55), accusing him of assaulting her and embezzling money she had entrusted to him. The incident reportedly occurred when Nesa asked Yunus for three lakh taka, money from a land sale she had deposited with him for medical treatment. According to the complaint, Yunus responded with violence, kicking her and causing injury.
The Jhalakathi Senior Judicial Magistrate Court took the case into cognizance on Thursday and issued an arrest warrant against Yunus, a driver for LGED. While Yunus denies the charges and claims his brothers are conspiring against him, the case has drawn attention due to the age of the complainant and the nature of the allegations.
