Police recovered the body of 26-year-old sex worker Tania Akhter, also known as Bulu, from a wardrobe inside her room at the Daulatdia brothel in Goalanda upazila, Rajbari. Her body was found late Tuesday night after fellow sex workers reported her missing earlier in the day.
Tania, originally from Raipur village in Barisal, was last seen around 10 AM. After she could not be reached, other sex workers searched for her and alerted the landlord, Sarwar Mandal. Hours later, her lifeless body was discovered stuffed inside her wardrobe, with a mobile charger cable wrapped around her neck.
Goalanda Ghat Police Officer-in-Charge Rakibul Islam confirmed that the scene suggested murder. Evidence has been collected, and the body is being sent for post-mortem. Police say they are working to identify and arrest those responsible.
