The Female Students Expelled from BAU Hall Over Ragging Allegations

The administration of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has temporarily expelled three female students from Tapsi Rabeya Hall on charges of ragging a first-year student from the Faculty of Agriculture. The decision, announced in a notice signed by Acting Registrar Dr. Md. Helal Uddin on Thursday night, was made under Section 7 of the university’s Ordinance for Student Discipline.

According to the notification, Maria Sultana Meem has been expelled from the hall for 12 months, while Zubaida Jannat Soha and Ashika Rushda have each been expelled for 6 months. Hall Provost Professor Dr. Israt Jahan Shelly confirmed the disciplinary action and emphasized that no form of injustice, including ragging, will be tolerated on campus. She added that the decision was taken with proper evidence and full support from the Vice Chancellor.
