A 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Tanvir Hossain alias Sohel Mondal, 31, in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon when the girl visited her neighbor’s house. According to the victim’s mother, Sohel called the girl to his house, asking her to hold his baby, and then allegedly raped her.
The girl fell ill in the evening and informed her mother about the incident. She was admitted to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital for a medical examination. A rape case was filed at Sadar Police Station by the victim’s mother, and the accused was arrested.
The police have taken the accused into custody and plan to send them to court after interrogation. The victim’s mother has demanded justice and a proper investigation into the incident.
