A 19-year-old worker named Hridoy was allegedly beaten to death inside Greenland Limited, a factory in Konabari, Gazipur, on Saturday. A video of the incident, showing him tied up, bleeding, and unable to move, has gone viral, sparking outrage.

Hridoy, from Ghatail in Tangail, worked as a mechanical operator. His family said he never returned home after his shift. The next day, they found protests ongoing at the factory and learned he had been killed over a theft accusation. Later, they identified his body at Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.

His brother has filed a murder case with the Konabari Police Station. One person, another factory worker, has been arrested. The factory has been temporarily shut down.

The video shows Hridoy tied to a window, beaten while naked from the waist up, blood pouring from his face. In another clip, he is dragged across the room with his hands and feet bound. Workers nearby can be heard saying, “He’s not dead yet.”

No one from the factory management has publicly responded. Police say more arrests are expected.
