In Faridpur’s Boalmari upazila, a 45-year-old man, Rezaul Shikdar, has been jailed following a brutal sexual assault on a 32-year-old woman inside her home. The attack took place around 1:30 AM on July 23, when Shikdar and several unidentified accomplices knocked on the victim’s door, lured her outside, and then forcibly entered the house. Inside, they sexually assaulted the woman while restraining and physically attacking her husband, who was dragged outside during the incident.
The assault was reportedly part of a weeks-long pattern of harassment by multiple men targeting the victim. Neighbors rushed to the scene after hearing screams, prompting the attackers to flee. Shikdar was arrested based on a formal complaint filed by the victim, supported by preliminary investigation findings.
Police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to identify and apprehend the remaining suspects involved in the coordinated attack.
