Police recovered the body of a woman from a deep freezer inside her home in Dhaka’s Kalabagan area around 11:30 p.m. on Monday, authorities confirmed.
According to Sub-Inspector Md. Jihan of Kalabagan Police Station, the victim’s husband, Nazrul Islam, has been missing since the incident, and investigators suspect the woman was killed and her body hidden in the freezer.
Quoting the deceased’s eldest daughter, police said Nazrul woke his daughters early Monday morning, told them their mother had “gone with someone else,” and left them at their grandparents’ home before disappearing.
When the family became suspicious and informed police, officers broke the lock to enter the apartment and discovered the woman’s body inside the freezer.
The body has been sent for autopsy, and police have launched a search operation to locate Nazrul Islam.
