Within just three and a half hours on Thursday afternoon, police recovered the bodies of three unidentified men from areas surrounding Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Each was brought to the hospital in an unconscious state between 1:45 pm and 5:15 pm, where attending doctors declared them dead shortly after arrival.
According to Md. Faruk, Inspector of the DMCH Police Outpost, the first man—estimated to be around 50 years old—was found unconscious in front of the hospital gate and declared dead at 1:45 pm. Later in the afternoon, Shahbagh Police recovered another man, believed to be about 30 years old, from the wall opposite the emergency department. He was declared dead at 5 pm.
Just fifteen minutes later, police brought in an elderly man found unconscious at the hospital’s emergency department gate. Doctors pronounced him dead upon examination. All three were wearing soiled clothing, and no visible injury marks were found on their bodies.
Inspector Faruk stated that the exact cause of death will be determined after autopsy reports are completed. As of Thursday evening, none of the deceased had been identified, and Shahbagh Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
