Gang Rape Incident in Savar: Locals Give 24-Hour Ultimatum for Arrests

A disturbing gang rape incident has shaken the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) community in Savar. According to reports, a female student was allegedly intercepted by three individuals, including Sohel Rosario, Biplob Rosario, and Mithu Rosario, while walking on the road. The perpetrators then forcibly took her to a nearby forest in Goalpara area and committed the heinous crime.

The victim initially hesitated to report the incident due to concerns about her reputation. However, after the matter came to light among locals, she informed her family members and filed a case with the Savar Model Police Station. The accused individuals, along with their family members, have been absconding since the incident.

The police have taken steps to ensure the victim’s safety and are working to apprehend the accused. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station, Mohammad Jewel Miah, confirmed that the victim’s health has been checked and efforts are underway to arrest the perpetrators. Additional police forces have been deployed to maintain communal harmony and prevent any further escalation.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with locals giving the authorities a 24-hour ultimatum to arrest the culprits. The victim is reportedly receiving support after losing her mental balance due to the trauma.
