Police have arrested three employees of Central Hospital, a private medical facility in Pabna Sadar, following allegations that a female patient was sexually harassed after undergoing surgery. The incident occurred on Saturday night, and the accused were sent to jail on Sunday afternoon after being produced in court.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Abul Hossain (30) of Gachpara area, Abdullah Al Mamun (24) of Bhangura upazila, and Mottakin Biswas (37) of Chak Pailanpur in Pabna Municipality.

According to the written complaint, the victim—who had undergone a cesarean section operation—reported that one of the hospital staff sexually harassed her in the post-surgery recovery area. When her relatives protested, a heated argument broke out between them and hospital workers. Soon, several outsiders joined the confrontation, leading to a physical altercation involving students of Pabna Government Edward College, one of whom, Redwan Ahmed Shuvo, was assaulted.

In retaliation, a group of college students arrived at the hospital, vandalized parts of the building, and clashed with staff. Police arrived at the scene shortly afterward, brought the situation under control, and detained three employees.

Pabna Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdus Salam confirmed that the victim’s husband, Momin Sardar, filed a case Sunday morning. The accused were arrested and sent to jail through the court later that day. Following the incident, all hospital activities have been temporarily suspended under the instruction of the Deputy Commissioner and Civil Surgeon, pending further investigation.
