The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced an increase in the monthly salaries of the national women’s cricket team. The decision was made at the BCB directors’ meeting held in Mirpur on Monday.
Under the revised structure, players in the ‘A’ category will now receive Tk 1,60,000 per month, up from Tk 1,20,000. ‘B’ category cricketers will receive Tk 1,35,000, compared to the previous Tk 1,00,000. Salaries for the ‘C’ category have been adjusted from Tk 70,000 to Tk 95,000, while the ‘D’ category will now receive Tk 80,000, up from Tk 60,000.
In addition to the salary increases, national team captains will receive an additional Tk 30,000, and vice-captains will receive Tk 20,000 per month.
The new contract list, effective from July 1, places Nigar Sultana, Nahida Akhter, and Sharmin Akhter in the ‘A’ category. The ‘B’ category includes Farajna Haque, Ritu Moni, Fahima Khatun, Marufa Akhter, Rabeya Khan, and Sobhana Mostari. Swarna Akhter is the sole player in the ‘C’ category, while the ‘D’ category includes Sumaiya Akhter, Fariha Islam, Rubaiya Haider, Sanjida Akhter, and Nishita Akhter. Players outside the contract who join the national team will receive Tk 60,000 per month.
