The Office of the Chief Adviser has issued a statement defending Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser, Ali Riaz, after a woman accused him of “torture” on social media.
According to the statement released on Wednesday night (Nov 26, 2025), a woman identified as Atandranu Ripa has been making “false, fabricated, and baseless” allegations against Ali Riaz through a Facebook video. The statement described the incident as an attempt to defame the official.
The government said it is closely monitoring the matter and will consider taking legal action in response. Quoting Ali Riaz, the statement said, “He does not know the woman who is spreading this statement. All the claims made about his contact or relationship with her are completely false.”
Ali Riaz also requested that the concerned parties stop circulating what he described as defamatory and offensive statements, warning of possible legal consequences.
Before his appointment as Special Assistant to Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus on November 13, 2025, Ali Riaz served as the Vice-Chairman of the National Consensus Commission and previously headed the Constitutional Reform Commission.
