The Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation has temporarily suspended national shooter Kamrun Nahar Koli, days after she publicly raised allegations of sexual harassment and irregularities within the federation.
In a letter signed by federation General Secretary Aleya Ferdousi, the federation said Kamrun Nahar violated the “Code of Conduct” at a federation-run camp. Based on this, she has been suspended from all shooting-related activities until further notice. The letter also states that the Bangladesh Olympic Association has been informed and that Kamrun Nahar has been asked to respond within three days, explaining why she should not be permanently expelled.
The suspension follows a January 1 report published by Desh Rupantor that highlighted corruption, stalled training camps, and irregularities in the Bangladesh Shooting Sports Federation. In that report, Kamrun Nahar spoke against federation joint secretary GM Haider Sajjad and questioned the prolonged closure of national team training camps.
She said Bangladeshi shooters have not participated in any international competition since the Paris Olympics, despite receiving Olympic scholarships intended for preparation and quota events. Kamrun Nahar also alleged that while training activities remain suspended, the federation continues to deduct 65 percent of athletes’ scholarship fun
