Sadia Noshin Tasneem Chowdhury is contesting the 13th National Election from Moulvibazar-2 (Kulaura Upazila) as a candidate of the Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB), with the symbol scissors. Among 26 valid candidates in the district, she is the only woman candidate.
She is a resident of Laskarpur, Ward 9 of Kulaura Municipality. Her father, Saad Lutfor Razzaq Chowdhury, was a government primary school teacher, and her mother, Amina Begum Chowdhury, is a women’s leader and homemaker. After studying at Nabinchandra High School in Kulaura, Sylhet Government Women’s College, and MC College, she joined student politics in 2011 through the Socialist Students’ Front.
She currently serves as the Central Office Secretary of Bangladesh Nari Mukti Kendra, the women’s organization affiliated with SPB. Alongside full-time political work, she tutors to support herself. SPB reports that she participated in the July 2024 mass uprising and in discussions of the Consensus Commission. The party offers conditional support to the July Charter, calling for revisions to reflect broader consensus and socialist principles.
Sadia states her priorities include healthcare and education for all, improving the livelihoods of marginal farmers, ending drug abuse, corruption, communalism, and violence against women, securing land rights for tea garden workers, and setting a minimum daily wage of 600 taka. She has emphasized working-class demands and the rights of women and laboring communities.
