Nabila Tasnid is contesting the 13th National Election from Dhaka-20 (Dhamrai Upazila) as a candidate of the National Citizen Party (NCP). Her election symbol is the Shaplakoli. Dhaka-20 covers the entire Dhamrai area and has been vacant since 2024.
Tasnid, about 35 years old, holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Engineering and Law and a master’s in Business Administration. She is a postgraduate engineer and businessperson and one of the two millionaire candidates fielded by NCP in Dhaka, with among the highest reported income and assets among the party’s nominees.
Her campaign emphasizes technological advancement and local development, including a “Smart Dhamrai” project that proposes free Wi-Fi and IT training. Her broader agenda includes pledges on agriculture, education, healthcare, employment, women and youth development (including daycare and an idea fund), infrastructure, and environment conservation such as a plastic-free river and improved waste management. Many of these commitments are detailed on her official campaign website.
Tasnid’s nomination was initially controversial within her party. Some local NCP leaders claimed to have never met her and questioned her connection to the party, even declaring her an “undesirable” candidate in December 2025 due to internal disputes. However, NCP-Jamaat alliance leaders reaffirmed support for her candidacy in January 2026, framing it as an effort to resolve misunderstandings and unify for her victory.
She has been campaigning in Dhamrai, meeting voters and walking through villages to present her reform agenda, which prioritizes inclusive development and addressing local demands in education, health, agriculture, and technology.
