Mia Ghulam Parwar, Secretary General of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and candidate with the Scales symbol, alleged threats against women and minority voters, distribution of black money, and cyber attacks in the Khulna-5 (Dumuria–Phultala) constituency. He made the claims at a press conference at the Khulna Press Club on Thursday morning while announcing his election manifesto.

Parwar said that one week before the election, irregularities and a tense situation had emerged at the grassroots level, which he said contradicts assurances of a free and fair vote. He alleged that female campaign workers faced harassment, including incidents where burqas and face coverings were forcibly removed, and said there were reports of physical assaults, including on pregnant women.

He also claimed that out of 150 polling centers in the constituency, at least 50 are “very risky,” citing concerns over voter intimidation, polling center occupation, ballot snatching, and ballot removal in advance. He said a written list of these centers had been submitted to the administration, Election Commission, and monitoring agencies.

At the same event, Parwar outlined local development pledges in his manifesto, including addressing waterlogging in Bill Dakatia, reopening closed factories, constructing an embankment in Jaliakhali, establishing technical and freelancing training institutes, building two mini-stadiums, constructing the Sikirhat bridge over the Bhairab River, and setting up a cold storage facility in Dumuria. Local Jamaat leaders were present at the press conference.
