Dilshana Parul is contesting the 13th National Election from Dhaka-19 (Savar-Ashulia) as a candidate of the National Citizen Party (NCP), supported by the 11-party alliance with Jamaat-e-Islami. Her electoral symbol is the “Shapla Koli”. She is the only female candidate among eight contenders in the constituency.
Parul, described in party materials as a development worker, has been actively campaigning across Savar and Ashulia, meeting residents and outlining her election priorities. She has pledged to work against terrorism, extortion, and drug abuse in the area if elected. She has also emphasized improving constituency infrastructure, addressing the effects of the nearby dumping station, and advocating for maternity expense support and a government hospital for female workers in this industrially concentrated constituency.
Her campaign has received broader attention as part of the NCP’s efforts to field women candidates in key seats in Dhaka, with party leaders highlighting her return from abroad to serve the people and represent marginalized voices.
Like many women candidates in this election cycle, Parul has faced online abuse and targeted negative messaging as she campaigns. In media coverage, she noted sustained attacks on her social media presence after she wore a scarf while campaigning, and said the volume of online hostility has been difficult to endure.
Her platform reflects a mix of constituency-level concerns and broader alliance positions, including social welfare commitments tied to healthcare, women’s needs, and local development, as part of the NCP-led campaign in Dhaka-19.
This profile is part of an ongoing documentation series on women contesting the 13th National Election.
