A female student of Jahangirnagar University has filed a case alleging that a former student lured her to his home, physically tortured her, and raped her. The complaint was lodged at Ashulia Police Station, and the survivor is currently receiving treatment at Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka.

Police identified the accused as a former student of the university’s 44th batch, while the survivor is from the 53rd batch. According to investigators, the two had previously been in a relationship but had broken up. On Tuesday, the accused allegedly went to the student’s residential hall and pressured her to accompany him, eventually resorting to threats and blackmail.

The survivor told authorities that after she was taken to the accused’s house, her face was taped, she was beaten, and hot water was poured on her hands. She further alleged that she was raped before being locked inside the room as the accused left the premises. She later contacted the national emergency number 999, prompting police intervention.

Law enforcement officers rescued her and initially took her to the Jahangirnagar University medical center before transferring her to Savar Upazila Health Complex and subsequently to Dhaka for advanced treatment. Police say efforts are underway to arrest the accused.

Authorities confirmed that the case includes allegations of rape and severe physical abuse. The incident has raised fresh concerns about the safety of women students and the risks posed by intimate partner violence beyond campus boundaries.
