PLEASE READ: We have been observing a growing pattern of comments, inbox messages, and interactions that reflect misunderstanding and, at times, a lack of basic respect for what BDFA is and how we operate.
BDFA is an intersectional feminist archive and documentation platform. We are not a live news channel, a rumor hotline, or a public complaint desk. What we publish is researched, verified, and contextualized, guided by ethical responsibility, especially when issues involve violence, survivors, and marginalized communities.
Increasingly, however, we are being treated as if we are on call 24/7: ordered to “post immediately,” interrogated about sources in accusatory tones, pressured to frame issues in particular ways, or expected to portray every political position as equally valid and deserving of equal space. That is not how responsible documentation works, nor is it respectful engagement.
Urgency is understandable, but disrespect is not. Outrage aimed at BDFA does not create accountability; it often fuels misinformation and turns serious issues into spectacle. BDFA does not operate under public command, online pressure, or partisan expectation. Our priorities are guided by feminist ethics, accuracy, safety, and long-term memory work.
We welcome credible information shared in good faith, corrections offered respectfully, and genuine dialogue. We will not tolerate harassment, entitlement, or attempts to police our work. Documentation requires care, time, and independence.
